IAAPA FEC Summit 2025 was an event we won’t soon forget. Not only did it bring together some of the most passionate operators in the industry for invaluable educational sessions and networking opportunities, but it also delivered an unexpected twist—historic snowfall in New Orleans!
The Big Easy became the Big Icy, with grounded flights, unexpected delays, and a shared experience that turned colleagues into friends. For many attendees, the summit wasn’t just about learning and connection, it was about resilience, camaraderie, and, let’s be honest, a little bit of snowstorm survival bonding.

When flights were cancelled, connections were made
One thing that sets the attractions industry apart is its ability to adapt, problem-solve, and find the fun in any situation. So when the snowstorm put travel plans on hold, we seized the moment to deepen conversations, share ideas, and, of course, have some fun. Being snowed in together turned New Orleans into "Camp Westin: SnowLA 2025," and the extra time gave us an opportunity to create meaningful memories and lasting connections.

Event highlights
Beyond the unexpected winter weather, the event itself was filled with inspiring moments, valuable insights, and unforgettable experiences. From festive costumes at the opening reception to learning about Mardi Gras traditions and exploring Mardi Gras World on Monday evening, it was a celebration of connection and industry innovation.

Sponsoring the Mardi Gras World evening was a true honor for our team. Seeing operators come together, share ideas, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere was a highlight of the week. A huge thank you to the Kern family for hosting us in such an incredible space and for sharing their inspiring story.

A heartfelt thank you to the IAAPA FEC community
None of this would have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the IAAPA FEC Committee, the event organizers, and the incredible speakers who shared their expertise and time. Your knowledge and insights enriched the experience for everyone in attendance.
We also want to thank the IAAPA team for your unwavering support and attention to detail—you made every attendee feel welcome and valued. And having Massimiliano Freddi, the newly appointed Chair of the IAAPA Board of Directors, with us was a privilege. His passion for the industry is contagious, and we can’t wait to see what’s ahead under his leadership.
Looking ahead
As we finally made our way home (some of us after four canceled flights!), we couldn’t help but reflect on what makes IAAPA FEC Summit such a standout event year after year. The inspiring sessions, meaningful connections, and shared insights make it one of our favorite industry gatherings. And with a once-in-a-lifetime snowstorm, this year brought unexpected challenges—but also unforgettable moments, deeper conversations, and new friendships that made it truly special.
We’re already looking forward to next year’s summit in Phoenix, Arizona, from February 1-3, 2026. Fingers crossed for sunshine and warm weather! But no matter what, we know it will be another unmissable event filled with learning, networking, and opportunities to grow.
