It is distressing to see first hand the impact that the coronavirus pandemic is having on our industry. Our hearts go out to all of you that are so severely affected.
As a fellow business owner, I empathise with you as you try to figure out a plan to keep your business together, do right by your people, and support your families.
It is extremely tough, and there is no playbook for this.
We need to be resilient, positive, and creative - all characteristics that enabled us, as entrepreneurs, businessmen and women, to build our businesses in the first place.
Our spirit and commitment is going to be put to the test, now more than ever before.
At ROLLER, we have taken measures to ensure our staff are first and foremost safe, and are doing all we can to protect their livelihoods. At the same time, we’re exploring everything we can do to support you; our clients, partners and friends, as we all do our part to stop the spread of the virus.
Despite significant changes needing to be made, our team has responded in the only way they know how - and that is, to rise to the challenge, and stick together during such tough times.
I am truly humbled and proud to be leading such an amazing group of people who are stepping up to such a monumental challenge, and doing so with such dignity, understanding and support.
Rest assured, we will be doing everything humanly possible to keep pushing forward, so that on the other side of this, we are there to support you and your business as you get back on your feet.
During this temporary downtime, we will be focusing on the following key things:
- Publishing content on how you can use this time as effectively as possible; to capitalise on new opportunities and make longer term improvements to the guest experience. We will also be here to help you implement these initiatives as needed.
- We will be continuing to develop the ROLLER Platform, adding new features and functionality, so that when the time is right, you will be able to come back stronger than ever.
- Brainstorming new ideas on how we can utilise our team, technology and network to help local communities deliver critical services, and to try and do our part in alleviating the societal struggles ahead.
One day, hopefully in the near future, people will get back to doing the things they love, the things that make them happy.
All the amazing people that make up our industry are the experts at putting smiles on faces, and creating experiences that last a lifetime.
We will be there for you during this downtime, and we will be there for you when your doors re-open.
We will get through this, one day at a time.
