What are digital waivers?

Let’s take a step back and look at what digital waivers are and how they’re used. In short, it’s a process enhancer that allows you to offer guests a way to sign waivers ahead of their visit and file them on the cloud for future use. This has two main benefits for your business. First, you’re reducing check-in times by having paperwork handled ahead of a guest’s visit – making them happier and allowing you to serve more guests. Second, you’re able to use the information on these digital waivers to learn more about your guests, their spending behavior, and what makes them happy – empowering you to offer personalized marketing that encourages return visits.

Why you should consider using digital waivers

  • Risk mitigation and legal protection - Venues like climbing parks and trampoline parks use waivers to educate guests on risks and provide a legal safeguard in case of incidents. Many insurance providers favor venues with robust waiver systems, which can reduce premiums.
  • Streamlined check-ins - Digital waivers eliminate bottlenecks at entry points. Guests can complete forms in advance, cutting down wait times and allowing staff to focus on delivering exceptional experiences.
  • Smart marketing - Birth dates, participation history, and other waiver data can fuel personalized marketing campaigns. For instance, venues can send tailored birthday offers, creating a deeper connection with their guests.

How prevalent are digital waivers?

The 2025 Attractions Industry Benchmark Report reveals that 68.2% of venues have embraced digital waivers, showcasing their importance across the industry. However, we also looked at the data on a more granular level, analyzing adoption by venue type. This shows us which industries are taking their tech to the next level:

  • Wake and aqua parks lead with a staggering 96% adoption rate.
  • Climbing venues aren’t far behind, with 88.9% adoption.
  • Trampoline parks and adventure parks also rank high, with over 74% implementation.

These numbers reflect a broader shift. digital waivers are becoming an essential tool for many venues, helping to simplify processes, support compliance, and enhance the overall guest experience.
